President Obama Prays for Rev. Billy Graham

President Obama was vacationing with his family in North Carolina when Joshua Dubois received word that the president wanted to make an unscheduled trip. He wanted to visit the Rev. Billy Graham at his home in the Tar Heel State.

DuBois was serving as head of the White House Office of Faith Based and Neighborhood Partnerships. He made a few calls, set up the meeting and boarded a plan to North Carolina.

The Rev. Billy Graham has visited many presidents in the White House, but a president had never visited the legendary reverend at his home.

That meeting, DuBois says, is one of his most remarkable memories of his time serving in the Obama Administration. Here's what happened (full transcription below).

DUBOIS: So I flew down and took the presidential motorcade up a mountain that is not built to handle a presidential motorcade and then we just had the most amazing hour with this powerful, yet gentle man in Billy Graham and I'll never forget the truth and the words that Rev. Graham spoke into the president and into this country and then one of my favorite parts of it - Mr. Graham towards the end of the meeting, as he often does, started praying for President Obama.

When he wrapped up we weren't sure what to do next and President Obama started praying for Rev. Graham which was just an amazing moment to have the President of the United States in a spirit of humility just say, you know, I want to offer a prayer for this man who's prayed for so many. So sitting there, being right next to that as it was happening was just an amazing blessing for me and I'll never forget it.

this is quite interesting especially in light of DR.Graham's endorsement of Mr.Oboma's support for Mr.Oboma's opposition in the last election-.Dr.GRAHAM ,TO ME,is especially valuable for two things, his support for REv.King's ministery at a time that that was unpopular, and his speaking up for the existence of religious freedom in Russia at a time such a reality was being downplayed by others in his theological framework, and flatly denied.Recently, during the last election,I called his bookstore to inquire about books by Rev.King being stocked,or other works on social justice from an evanglical standpoint but they were conspeciously absent.I was disappointed,of course, but the value of what he did do as before mentioned can not be over emphised. Also he came out and supported President Clinton at a time when Mr.Clinton was being attacked.DR. Graham,I'm sure, would be the first to acknowldge his imperfection,I think his autography is called Just as I am.

Whether we approve or disapproveof President Obama we are asked to pray for our leaders. Our President needs the Lord and we need to be asking for the salvation of his soul. What a day that would be for our country if that would happen.

Praise God that even though they may disagree on certain policies, they can nonetheless demonstrate their unity in Christ with such grace.

Well, I think that the Lord had a powerful hand on having Pastor Billy Graham meet President Obama. Our country needs to send out numerous and powerful prayers for our nation, the govenrnment, and President Obama. With the sequestial movement now passed it has and will have the poor, the disabled, the innocent, the seniors and many more suffer even more than they already have. Our government leaders need to have a huge awakening about how the Lord is looking down on His people. The government leaders and including President Obama needs to experience the suffering of God's people-we the God fearing and innocent can only pray and cry out to our heavenly father. Thank you for your time and ask for everyone to never cease praying for the administration that the Holy Spirit will strongly guide each and every one of them according to God's will.

Thank you and God bless us all,

I hope the President was sincere with his
prayers for Mr. Graham. Everybody knows how
much the press likes him and he does too. Surely, he wouldn't do something like that just
for a "photo op."
I think he also needs to pray for the nation
to get back on track. If he is really a "born
again" Christian he wouldn't be doing some of
the things he's doing to try to destroy this
nation.
He's good about quoting scripture when he
wants something that most Christians believe
is wrong; how does he jusify his other policies
like gay marriage. Look what happened to Sodom
and Gommorah1
