Could the November elections force a shift of power in the Senate?
A new poll shows it's possible with the resurgent campaign of Missouri Congressman Todd Akin.
The Republican poll from Wenzel Strategies has Akin leading incumbent Claire McCaskill 49 percent to 45 percent.
Sen. McCaskill does maintain a 7-point advantage with women. Rep. Akin has a 16-point lead among men.
While several other polls show McCaskill ahead of Akin, the dwindling gap may convince national Republicans to open up their coffers after party leaders pulled out of the campaign due to Akin's comments about rape.
