Rep. Etheridge: "I'm Sorry"

North Carolina Congressman Bob Etheridge has apologied for the way he treated a college student on a sidewalk on Capitol Hill.  The student, who had someone record the exchange and posted it on YouTube, asked Etheridge if he supports the entire Obama agenda.  Etheridge demanded to know the name of the young man, grabs his arm and at one point puts pulls him to his side.

Here's the full video.  See below for Etheridge's apology.

Rep. Etheridge issued this statement regarding the video: “I have seen the video posted on several blogs.  I deeply and profoundly regret my reaction and I apologize to all involved.  Throughout my many years of service to the people of North Carolina, I have always tried to treat people from all viewpoints with respect. No matter how intrusive and partisan our politics can become, this does not justify a poor response.  I have and I will always work to promote a civil public discourse.”
