The White House South lawn now has much more flavor. The First Lady, surrounded by local fifth-graders, broke ground on a new 1,100 square foot vegetable garden today.
President Obama has one of the busiest schedules of anybody in the country, but he still has time to watch college basketball. He released a fairly conservative NCAA tournament bracket, picking Pittsburgh, Louisville, UNC, and Memphis to make it to the Final Four, and UNC to win it all.

I never thought that I would have my own special month honoring the accomplishments of people like me. I am part of the very small minority of redheaded left-handers who make up a mere 0.2% of the world's population, but that status never carried much weight when it came to things like filling out college applications or making a special presentation during multicultural day in high school.
I am not an expert on global warming or environmental issues, but I can pretty confidently say that if I were in charge of any global warming lobbying group, I would stage my most significant events during the months of June, July, or August.
