President Obama met with key business leaders to address an issue that's on the minds of most Americans: the economy. While there's no quick fix to our current economic situation, the President left the meeting "confident that we can still turn our economy around."
He advocates a bipartisan solution, where it doesn't matter whether an idea is "Democratic or Republican, but whether it makes good economic sense." He says that all Americans should work together to help solve the current financial situation.
There's still a long way to go towards recovery, and it's doubtful that Obama's skeptics will be convinced that the enormous $825 billion price tag for the economic stimulus is the right solution.
Despite political opposition, however, the president maintains a sense of optimism that the government will be able to provide a "favorable climate in which workers can prosper, businesses can thrive, and our economy can grow."
