Why Does Addiction Happen?

Addiction is an advanced, complex entanglement of the sin and suffering that even non-addicts experience. I hope to show that we can all relate in some measure to the experience of addiction.

"But I'm Not Drinking..."

Anytime someone quits an addiction, they're likely to replace it with a different one. An addict can and will become addicted to any mind or mood-altering substance, even if it wasn’t the person's first drug of choice. Many choose food. If your loved one does this, what can you do?

No Quick Fixes for a Crumbling Marriage

I don't know about you, but God had to shout to get my attention. It happened when my marriage fell apart and I filed for divorce. Up until then, life was pretty good. I had a good relationship with God, or so I thought. We spent time together in the morning as I read my devotion for the day, my “quick fix” before the busyness of life began. I had no idea that God was not satisfied with our superficial relationship.
