Easter Prayer Breakfast at the White House

Today, President Obama hosted an Easter Prayer Breakfast at the White House.  It is a time of prayer, reflection and celebration of Easter.  The White House said the President will also highlight the important role that Christian organizations play in serving our country.

Here is some of what the President said during his opening remarks:

"Today I'm particularly blessed to welcome you, my brothers and sisters in Christ, for this Easter Breakfast," Obama said after remarking that he's been pleased to welcome Jews and Muslims to the White House on different occasions marking religious holidays.

He also said that he's drawn to Easter by Christ's sacrifice and the story of his resurrection, that he can still picture Christ's death on the cross, even though it was 2,000 years ago.  "We are awed by the grace he showed even to those who would have killed him, we are thankful for the sacrifice He gave for the sins of humanity.  And we glory in the promise of redemption in the resurrection."

The President quoted Micah 6:8: "So, on this day, let us commit our spirit to the pursuit of a life that is true, to act justly and to love mercy and walk humbly with the Lord."

Director of Obama's Faith Based Office, Joshua DuBois, told me this was the first event of this kind at the White House.

Ninety members of Christian clergy were present including Joel Osteen of Lakewood Church, Bill Hybels of Willowcreek Community Church, Bishop Vashti McKenzie of the AME Church and Dr. Arturo Chavez, President of Mexican American Catholic College, and a prior member of Obama's Advisory Council on Faith Based and Neighborhood Partnerships.

Today's prayer breakfast follows a dinner held at the White House recently to mark the end of Ramadan and a Sedar to mark Passover.

Mr. Obama needs our prayers. I just really wish he was just as great a Christian as he is a liar. If I would have received an invitation it would have been a very hard decision to go and attend and sit with him as you know most of the words he said did not come from his heart. This was only a publicity stunt and that's all it was.

So not only has pastor neal somehow looked into President Obama's heart but he also stands in judgment of what he found there. What a pastoral comment to leave in response to this harmless news item! We'll pray for you too neal, that your heart and mind may be opened to new and unexpected possibilities, and that your future comments may be civil ones and lacking cynicism. Amen.

The most important item that was missed is that we know people by their actions not their words. Read Matt.7:13-23. Vs. 20 says "yes, you can identify a tree by its fruit, so you can identify people by their actions." Based on Mr. Obama's actions, he has reestablished abortion funding to third world countries, signed a health care bill that will use tax payer money for abortions and tried to increase the billions of dollars that go to Planned Parenthood abortion clinics. He has appointed homosexual activist to key administration posts in the government and legal system and has hosted several whitehouse events for the homosexual community. By his actions he leading people to hell not to heaven. Therefore I have to agree with Pastor Neal that this was nothing more than a "photo-op" and the truth is not in him. He definitely needs our prayer.

Good thoughts, although slightly inaccurate, its understandable. This is excellent oppurtunity find how one attend this church, if he speaks up. But out of curiousity, how many did your last leader lead to heaven? Wasn't the VPOTUS daughter interesting.Does a persons sexuality mean they cant serve, is it constitutional? Was " Mission Accoplished" a photo-op? But I do agree wholeheartedly the good Pastor definitely needs our prayer, moreso his flock.
