What's your Number One Vice?

Did you know that your excess weight--whether is it as little as 10 pounds or as much as 100 or more is caused by a few unhealthy habits that you have?

That's right!

You weren't born with a stomach that is too large and needs reducing, you weren't born deficient of the Atkins Diet--YOU over the course of your life developed habits that created a lifestyle that allowed fat to thrive in your thighs, stomach, arms, etc.

Getting rid of that fat requires getting rid of the very habits that created them. It makes sense doesn´t it? You can´t lose weight AND keep it off, if you don´t change what caused it!

My goal over the coming weeks and months is to help you identify what got you in this mess in the first place and help you change your lifestyle and get rid of those few habits that are causing you grief and harming your optimal health.

I was recently in Mexico, at a beautiful but huge resort. They hada shuttle service to take people from their buildings to the pool, beach and places to eat. My husband and I have observed that it is a great system for the elderly who can´t walk as briskly or well, but that too many people who can walk and most likely should walk, aren´t! That´s indicative of their lifestyle and choices and it shows in their bodies condition. While I in no way have a perfect body, I am doing what I can to be optimally healthy by walking each morning to and from the gym first thing in the day, walking to the pool and various places on the grounds.

Fitness isn´t something you can buy and no one can give it to you or do it for you. But if you are willing to work for it, I am sure that I can help you realize it, one simple and easy step at a time.

What can you do TODAY to improve your health, body and fitness?

Blessings,

Julia

# RE: What's your Number One Vice?

I am a widow 75 yrs. old and I have just recently been diagnosed with Diabetes II, have neuropathy in my legs, rheumatoid arthritis, retain fluids badly due to weakened veins & arteries in my legs so I must take strong diuretics. I only have one kidney and it's function is decreasing. I am under the care of a very good cardiologist and nephrologist and thank God each morning that I am still able to live alone and take care of my personal needs. I have a very caring church family who are very strong prayer warriors with me, a loving son and dtg.-in-law who help me with things I'm unable to do for myself and a very close friend who is always "just a phone call away". She & I have been best friends for over 40 yrs., having met while both of our husbands were in the Navy. I am unable to exercise hardly at all so therefore it is difficult to diet successfully. Please recommend a good, healthy diet for a sedentary lifestyle.

My vice is night time sweets as well, basically reacting to the sense of relief i feel once the kids (I have a few) are in bed and I have some limited time to myself to enjoy. Most of the day I dont get to sit to enjoy a full meal because during meals I have to tend to the kids, to do damage control, and when its not meal time I'm cleaning something or organizing something or working my night job, or tending to the other baby, my husband.
