It's hard to believe that it was ten years ago, I spent three weeks in New York City, many of those days at Ground Zero, reporting a myriad of stories surrounding those events for the 700 Club.
The attached is a shot of me with Bruce Porter, a pastor who was there counseling families, and helping to identify victims. We are sitting on the edge of what was known as "the pit," in the midst of human remains, and the burning stench of the remnants of the twin towers. It was "the edge of hell."

At the time, all the church leaders in NYC I talked to said, "The Church was not ready for this."
Today, we need to pray with Moses, Joshua, Gideon, David, etc. that the Lord will reveal the plans of the enemy, and that we recognize that this battle NOT "flesh and blood." With Paul the Apostle, we should "not be ignorant of the enemy's devices, plans and schemes."
One of my spiritual mentors, prophetic Bible teacher Derek Prince told me many years ago or, that the greatest battle we would face on this planet was Islam. Because it was religious and political.
So called Christianity (at least the American variety) is going to be like wheat and tares sorted out from Kingdom absolutes.
And then we have to pray for our enemies, and love them. How the heaven do you do that? But Jesus said it not me.
Many Christians have already had that tested. It will be costly.
Those people committed to radical Islam are committed to the uttermost. Can Christian's be any less?
In the meantime...
Walk in daily repentance.
Keep short accounts with God and others.
"Obey today."
Pray in the Spirit and press on!
P.S. Interestingly enough my wife Nedra and I will be in New York City on September 11 of this year for an interview Nedra is doing for the British Broadcasting Company. Ten years to the day.
