In light of Bob Dylan's 70th birthday I thought it might be interesting to recount some of our times together with you. The interview format (this time with someone else asking the questions) seemed appropriate.
With many unsettling events transpiring in our world today, many people are becoming preoccupied with “end time matters,” and the possibility of the end of the world and Christ’s return. Please keep in mind Solomon’s statement, “There is nothing new under the sun.”
Silence is not easy. How does one cultivate simplicity and solitude? See if you can project yourself into this picture and listen to the “sounds of silence”.
See if you can identify with this: “We are afraid of silence. I get into the car, I turn on my radio. I get into the elevator, they play music for me. Why? Because we’re afraid to be alone for two seconds with ourselves..."
Osama bin Laden is gone, but the war on terrorism continues and we are currently engaged in two wars one in Afghanistan and the other Iraq. With that in mind I almost forgot this weekend’s historical significance in regard to past wars.
In regard to Bin laden’s death…a little bit of wisdom…perhaps not politically correct….but….
A number of months ago I conducted an interview with Eric Metaxas on his book, Bonhoeffer: Pastor, Martyr, Prophet, Spy. At that time I highly recommended this as an important read. It seems that has been confirmed.
